About Seafood paella
Seafood paella is, along with Valencian paella, the most popular rice dish in Valencia. It is cooked as a dry rice in a paella pan, but with seafood and a rich fish stock instead of meat.
What goes into it
- Whole prawns and langoustines.
- Mussels, or clóchinas in summer.
- Cuttlefish or squid, plus fish stock, tomato, paprika and saffron.
If you don't want to peel seafood at the table, order arroz del senyoret instead, where everything comes peeled. Seafood paella is eaten at lunchtime, for at least two people. The beachfront restaurants of El Cabanyal and Malvarrosa are the classic choice.
